HISTORY

The first known 'Pomsky' litter was  in Australia. One Pomsky from this litter, Cody, has a huge social media following along with his owner Andre Ling. Sometime during 2011-2012, a family of breeders from the United States decided to bring the myth to reality and the first 'planned' Pomsky litter was created and born on March 5, 2012. Joline Philips of Arctic Design and Teressa Peterson of Apex Pomskies continued to work together and many other breeders followed suit. Three years after the first planned litter in the United States came the first known UK litter. Breeders such as Moonlit Pomskies and Celtic Star became the first breeders in the UK. Since then, many more have emerged.

It's essential to start training early, focusing on positive reinforcement, and ensuring they're exposed to various environments for well-rounded socialization.

.

YOUR RELATIONSHIP SURVIVAL KEY

Keep the Pomsky entertained yet not over stimulated. Daily mental and physical stimulation is important. Loose-leash training must be ongoing as the husky genes may be strong with the need to pull. Prey drive may become apparent depending on the genetic makeup.

UPBRINGING

Pomskies can be very independent and may need to be reigned in a little.

LIFESTYLE

You should expect to provide an average amount of exercise. There's no need for hours of trekking like the husky foundation breed. Pomskies love to please.

INTERESTS & HOBBIES

Some Pomskies love to do sports like agility, bjorking, and rally. They love human company especially children. They are also a pack animal and enjoy thecompany of other dogs.

EDUCATION

Pomskies are extremely intelligent. They do well if training in obedience and sports. They love mental stimulation and can have great impulse control if trained. Attention can easily be lost if something else is more interesting. A varied selection of treats can help with this.
