HISTORY
Originating from England, the French Bulldog's ancestors were English Bulldogs. During the Industrial Revolution, lace workers from Nottingham, who migrated to France, brought these small bulldogs with them, leading to the breed's name, "French" Bulldog. In France, they became highly favored, especially among Parisian women, for their compact size and affectionate nature. The breed was refined and popularized in France, which led to its current distinctive appearance, including the breed's characteristic bat ears.
